Are there dog-friendly cottages in Cemaes?

Dogs are welcome at all six, several with enclosed gardens. Check the individual listing, and note that dogs are restricted on the main beach left of the car park between the first of May and the end of September.

How much do holiday cottages in Cemaes Bay cost?

From about £90 a night. It is one of the quieter corners of the island, and prices tend to reflect that.

Is it too remote?

It depends what you want. There are shops and pubs round a working harbour, but you will not find a long list of places to eat. The rest of the island is a drive away. People come here for that, not despite it.

What is there to do nearby?

The harbour, the two coves and the coast path either side of them. Cemaes was graded Sufficient for bathing quality in 2024 and again in 2025 — a pass, but the lowest of the four grades, so judge the day. No Anglesey beach has lifeguards, and dogs are kept off the main beach left of the car park from 1 May to 30 September.

Where can you eat in Cemaes?

The Stag Inn calls itself the most northerly pub in Wales and cooks its own food. Y Wygyr sells fish and chips to sit in or take away. Caffi Banc does cakes and lunches, and the Little Cemaes Lobster Company sells crab and lobster straight off the boats.

Is there parking at the cottages?

Most have a space of their own and the listing says so. Cemaes is a village of narrow streets around the harbour, so a cottage with its own parking is worth paying a little more for in August.
