Felin Glais, Aberyscir
Just four miles from the thriving market town of Brecon, and with majestic views of the Brecon Beacons highest mountain, Pen Y Fan, Felin Glais offers a warm welcome in the most comfortable of surroundings.
Originally a Barn and Beast House, dating back to 1650, Felin Glais has been carefully and lovingly restored, to provide 5-star, award-winning bed and breakfast accommodation. Just a stones throw from Brecon and the magnificent hiking opportunities of the Beacons, the house is the perfect base for those seeking a walking or hiking holiday, or for anyone who simply wants to sit back and relax, to admire the spectacular scenery.
Felin Glais offers four guest rooms, all with luxury en-suite facilities. Two rooms have super king sized beds, a third provides a four poster bed, and the fourth room offers twin beds. Luxury towels and bath robes are provided for all guests, and there is a fridge by each room, for guests convenience. All rooms have an LCD TV and a DVD player, and free wifi is available throughout the house.
Breakfast is served in the main kitchen, and guests are welcome to use the common lounge and the conservatory, as well as the various seating areas throughout the house. The owners source only the finest produce from local suppliers, to offer a hearty breakfast with plenty of choice. Dining out locally, Brecon offers a wide choice of welcoming pubs and restaurants, serving fresh food made from the best locally-sourced ingredients.
Guests are welcome to use the beautifully-tended gardens, to relax and admire the views of Pen Y Fan in the distance. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, and a travel cot, high chair and booster seat are all available on request, for those with small children.
The nearby town of Brecon is the beating heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. This charming and historic town is full of independent boutiques, galleries and stores, and the twice-monthly Farmers Market is an excellent opportunity for food-lovers to sample the best in regional produce and local specialities. The cathedral is well worth a visit, as is the Regimental Museum of the Royal Welsh.
Further afield, walkers and hikers will be spoiled for choice with miles of trails and footpaths to explore throughout the Brecon Beacons. With trails suitable for both novice and experienced hikers, there really is something for everyone in this picturesque and awe-inspiring landscape. Horse riding tours and boat trips can also be enjoyed, taking in mountain scenery, rushing streams and waterfalls, and wide open vistas of rolling hillsides.
Felin Glais offers an ideal base for those visiting the Brecon Beacons for an action-packed, outdoor adventure holiday, as well as those seeking a peaceful setting for a get away from it all break. With many guests choosing to return time after time, Felin Glais is a very special place indeed, and the perfect location for a holiday in one of the most beautiful parts of Wales.
