The Felin Fach Griffin
I like to think that everyone's time at The Felin Fach Griffin is as relaxing as staying in someones home. The ethos behind EATDRINKSLEEP is 'the simple things in life done well'.
The Felin Fach Griffin is an award winning Brecon Beacons country Inn and restaurant with bed and breakfast rooms in Mid Wales. The rooms are chintz-free with white bed linen and beds so comfortable that a number of guests have wanted to buy them.
As a trained chef I am passionate about using seasonal and where possible, local ingredients. The Felin Fach Griffin's head chef, Nick Brodie, shares my belief and produces simple but unfussy food. Our principles continue to be recognised by independent guides, journalists and, most importantly, our customers. Our kitchen garden was the first at a restaurant to achieve Organic status, at the head of what is now rightly a national obsession to produce vegetables for our own use.
The Griffin is hosted by Julie Bell, with whom I once worked when I was a young tyro chef in Northern Ireland. She used to boss me around then and still does so now. She looks after a terrific team and has put together a wine list that we think matches any outside of London and the big cities.
We also now own The Gurnards Head near St. Ives, and The Old Coastguard in Mousehole, both near Lands End and the Minack Theatre in West Cornwall. We think ourselves very lucky to have found such great buildings in one of the most beautiful and underpopulated parts of Britain and it has rapidly become a much sought after retreat for those looking for a slower pace of life. Please do come and eat, drink and sleep with us there.
If not, we hope that you will anyway be able to join us to eat, drink or sleep at the Felin Fach Griffin.
Charles Inkin, Director of EATDRINKSLEEP
