Mill House B&B is a grade II listed property situated at the top of the village of Whitebrook in the heart of the Wye Valley. The original property dates back to the mid 18th century and was formally the home of a paper mill owner.
The derelict mill still stands in the gardens and is the last standing paper mill in Wales. Historically as a result of the paper pulp colouring the water as it flowed down stream, the property gave name to the village of White ? brook.
Today the house sits in 3.5 acres of landscaped gardens and woodlands and fronts onto Mill Ponds, the gardens themselves have been landscaped by a double gold winner at the Chelsea Flower show and feature oak boardwalks and woodland pathways.
Guests enter the property through electronic gates and are able to park in a large secure parking area overlooking the house and Mill and Mill ponds. Approaching the house you will see the beautiful cottage garden and the formal gardens leading off onto the boardwalk and woodlands.
Once inside the house visitors will appreciate the extensive and sympathetic remodelling that has taking place over the last few years, blending contemporary living with a traditional country style house. For guests, there are two large bedrooms available one double with ensuite and a further twin room with private bathroom featuring a solid teak bath.
Breakfast can be enjoyed in either the stunning steel and cherry wood kitchen/breakfast room, or in the formal drawing room with high its ceilings beautiful bronze peacock and views over the pond and gardens. All breakfast products are sourced locally and the eggs come from Mill Houses own free range chickens.
Finally apart from the beautiful location Mill House has another unique offering for its guests and visitors ? it is also the home to one of the UKs leading Art Galleries featuring work from 40 of the UKs best painters, sculptors and ceramicists. With exhibitions changing every 4-6 weeks repeat stays are a must.
