Gwernan
- Dolgellau Hotel in Snowdonia Wales
An
Oasis in a busy World
This hotel in Snowdonia is believed to have begun life as a hunting lodge in
the early 1800’s and became a hotel about a century later. Recently taken over
by Don McNeil, who likes to describe it as “Quirky and Charming”, it offers
you the very best atmosphere for relaxing in the heart of the Welsh countryside.

home cooking - Stan’s fish was lovely.”

There are many Snowdonia attractions,
one of the most popular being walking in snowdonia. The Gwernan hotel
is near Dolgellau, at the head of the magnificent Mawddach Estuary,
an ideal centre for exploring the whole of the southern half of the
Snowdonia National Park.
Cader Idris dominates the landscape,
inviting walkers of different abilities to climb the mountain from
several paths,
allowing breathtaking views across
Wales. For walkers who like their territory somewhat less steep, the valley
surrounding the hotel leads to the lakes at Cregannan and
the stunning view of Barmouth from
the hill.
