Barmouth Caravan & Camping Sites - Trawsdir Touring & Camping Park Trawsdir is a 5 STAR family run and maintained Touring & Camping Site, situated on the Mid Wales coast just 2 1/2 miles north of Barmouth, with magnificent views over Cardigan Bay and the Lleyn Peninsular, and just a few minutes walk away from miles of beautiful sandy beach. Mountain biking enthusiasts can try the Coed y Brenin Centre, which offers forestry and hill trails varying from easy family runs to the expert “Bull Run”. Enjoy a round of golf on the wooded hillside course at Dolgellau or at the splendid Royal St. David’s at Harlech, or simply while away the hours fishing the local rivers, estuary and sea. Trawsdir is situated in the Snowdonia National Park in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is ideally located for visiting the many local attractions including Harlech, Criccieth and Caernarfon Castles, Portmeirion Italianate Village, Snowdon, Tal-y-Llyn, Fairbourne and Ffestiniog Light Railways offering scenic trips on the old steam trains, the local lakes – from Cwm Bwchan and the Roman Steps to the famed Blue Lake at Fairbourne, slate caverns at Llanfair and Blaenau Ffestiniog and many more. Amenities Trawsdir caters for up to 30 tents and 70 tourers. All touring pitches have electric, water and waste – water facilities, a majority of which are hard standing. There is a payphone and a Park Office/Reception where friendly staff are on hand to help with enquiries and distribute leaflets of local attractions. In addition there are Showers, Toilets and a Launderette. Gas available for sale, ice blocks are available for hire. A small selection of groceries and provisions are also available for purchase at Reception. There is a Children's Play Area and Grade 1 Disabled facilities. Camping without electric is on a first come first serve basis and has its own designated area overlooking the sea. Booking not accepted for this facility. Touring and Camping with Electric also have designated areas but booking is required for these facilities. We only take couples and families, no large groups or groups of singles, and dogs are accepted with no extra cost. Payment should be paid prior to pitching or siting. Strictly no watercraft allowed on the Park. Generators are not permitted unless fitted as standard in Motor Homes. |
