Pembrokeshire Cottage Ael y Bryn
Ael y Bryn is a cosy detached Pembrokeshire cottage which provides a welcome retreat in the popular village of St Dogmaels.
Poppit Sands, the starting point of the 186 miles of Pembrokeshire coastal path, is aproximately two miles away. A short walk takes you to the centre of the village, on route passing the ruins of a 12th century abbey built in 1115 by Benedictine monks, the Coach House visitor centre/gift/coffee shop (which hosts a local producers market every tuesday), a working flour mill with a scenic mill pond where you can also purchase a variety of milled flours and freshly baked produce.
The village also has an excellent fish & chip shop, garage, post office, convenience store, two gift shops/art galleries, fishmonger, a newly opened deli and three riverside inns which all serve food and drink, including a range of real ales. Nearby Cardigan town offers a wider range of shops and eating venues as well as a cinema at Theart Mwldan.
The Pembrokeshire cottage sleeps 2-4 people in two comfortably furnished bedrooms on the first floor. Bedroom 1 has a double bed, built in wardrobe, dressing table and bedside tables. Bedroom 2 has twin beds, chest of drawers and bedside cabinets. The bathroom has a bath, separate shower cubicle, WC and wash hand basin.
On the ground floor of the cottage, the sitting rrom has a modern gas fire, two comfortable sofas, a Welsh dresser, table and chairs, digital TV with DVD/CD player plus other items of occassional furniture. There is a cosy snug room which has a wood burning stove, sofa and two easy chairs. The newly refurbished kitchen is very well equiped. It has a large Americal style fridge/freezer, electric hob and oven, dishwasher, automatic washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave and a breakfast bar with two stools and a small kitchen table and kitchen chairs.
From the cottage kitchen, the back door leads to a spacious patio/garden area which has a table and chairs and a kettle BBQ. To the side of the cottage there is a secure area suitable for storing up to four bikes and outdoor gear. There is ample parking for two cars in front of the cottage.
