The Wheatsheaf Inn at Betws-yn-Rhos
The Wheatsheaf Inn is a traditional Welsh country Inn providing great meals and B&B accommodation located at Betws yn Rhos near Abergele, Conwy, North Wales.
The Wheatsheaf was originally built in the 13th century as an Ale House & licensed as a Coaching Inn in the 17th century, serving the Mail Route between Conwy and Chester until 1870. The Inn is situated in the picturesque village of Betws yn Rhos, opposite the famous twin towered church of St. Michaels.
Betws-Yn-Rhos was voted "Best village in Wales 2003" & has a bowling green, tennis courts & "pay and play" golf course.
The village is a short drive into the country behind Abergele & Colwyn Bay on the B5381 St.Asaph to Conwy Road.
The main features of the Inn are its splendid brass strewn oak beams & stone pillars. Combine these with the cosy, friendly, olde worlde charm of the Lounge, Bar, & The Hayloft weekend Restaurant with its intimate atmosphere, The Wheatsheaf Inn is the ideal place to spend your lunchtime or evening.
Guest Accommodation
Family Room - B&B Accommodation
In contrast to the 'olde worlde' charm of our pub/restaurant, our guest rooms are light & bright. Brand new en-suites & newly decorated bedrooms compliment the picturesque view. With our bar & restaurant just a hop skip & a jump down the stairs, you needn't even leave our Coaching Inn should you prefer a relaxing evening in.
We have four guest bedrooms available, all en-suite with tea / coffee making facilities and Free-view TV.
Access is by staircase at the rear of the building. This leads to a corridor with all rooms on the right. The first two are 3 paces from the top of the stairs while the other two are at the end of the corridor. We do not have wheelchair access to the rooms. Currently we do not have handrails in any of the bathrooms. As standard we have a kettle, clock radio and free view digital TV. A refreshment tray is provided in each bedroom. Each bed is provided with a continental duvet. If required, sheets and blankets could be provided instead.
