The
Three Pigeons Pub North Wales is situated on
the edge of the village of Graigfechan, approximately
three
miles from the Ancient Market Town of Ruthin.
Graigfechan is in a very quiet and peaceful spot surrounded
by beautiful countryside. Ruthin, is a town
with every amenity and various tourist attractions, Ruthin
Gaol to name just one. Nearby, between Graigfechan and
Llangollen, the famous Horseshoe Pass is to be found
with its magnificent views.
The Three Pigeons Pub North Wales, Ruthin lies below
the southern part of The Clwydian Range Area Of Outstanding
Natural
Beauty, nationally protected as one of the most attractive
landscapes in Wales. It is also very close to the famous
Offa's Dyke walk. It has outstanding views over The Vale
Of Clwyd and provides a relaxing and tranquil escape
but within driving distance of nearby Wrexham, Chester
and Llangollen.
The Three Pigeons Pun North Wales Ruthin dates
back to the 17th. century when it provided
refreshment and
accommodation
for drovers who walked thousands of cattle across the
hills to market in Wrexham, using the same wide tracks
that remain today. Most were bound for England to meet
the demand from the rapidly growing cities and towns.
The Inn was enlarged and rebuilt in 1777 to accommodate
the increasing numbers heading for Wrexham and Shrewsbury.
Since then it has had various additions resulting in
a large and friendly pub which offers a warm welcome
to locals and visitors alike.
The Three Pigeons Pub North Wales has a traditional
bar in two areas, a lounge with comfortable seating,
games
room
and 48 seater restaurant. The bar boasts a wide range
of traditional and keg beers, while the restaurant,
which is run by an award-winning chef, offers
meals and snacks
to suit all tastes.
The pub is dog friendly.
Outside there are two beer terraces with seating
from which the views of the surrounding countryside
are best
appreciated. There is also further seating to the side
where there is a lawned area, again with far-reaching
views.
All parts of the pub and restaurant are easily
accessible by able and disabled patrons,
as are both beer terraces.
To the side of the Three Pigeons Pub North
Wales there is a large car park which patrons
are welcome to use
whilst
exploring
the wonderful walks which the area provides. At
the rear and set below the Three Pigeons Pub
North Wales is a camping and caravan site which
is licenced for 10 touring caravans. The facilities
at present
are basic due to the site not having been fully
developed. This is, however, more than compensated
by the tranquil and idyllic setting. The peace
is only occasionally broken by the sound of the
neighbouring cockerel, sheep and cows. Added
to this the fact that there is no need to drive
for food or liquid refreshment, this makes it
an ideal place to caravan or camp.
