Lavender Cottage sleeps 4 built in c.1850 is a high quality self-catering holiday cottage situated on the outskirts of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the heart of the North Wales countryside. Lavender cottage has plenty of old world charm and is ideal for a family holiday or a romantic short break.
This holiday cottage sleeps 4 + cot and is fully equipped. The cottage has been tastefully decorated, is comfortable and has a wealth of exposed beams and character features.
The self catering accommodation is clean and very comfortable. The original stone fireplace in the lounge houses a multi-fuel stove and there is a TV/DVD player with Sky, freesat digital. The kitchen includes, dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, superb cooking range, toaster and microwave. The dining room features an original Victorian open fireplace, books, games and PS 2 with games. Upstairs, 4 poster plus 2 single beds all with luxury Memory mattresses + cot if required, luxury Jacuzzi bath/shower. Outside - games room within the summerhouse, patio area.
The cottage is well placed for exploring North Wales with its beautiful scenery. Llangollen only 10 minutes away is renowned for it International Musical Eisteddfod, annual Balloon Festival, Food Festival, Garden Festival and Victorian Steam Railway. There are many family friendly restaurants and romantic little bistro's based around the River Dee, which runs through the town.
For outdoor activities Llangollen offers white water rafting, canoeing and walking. Nearby is the Llandegla Forest Mountain Bike Centre which has biking trails suitable for beginners, family and experienced bikers. It also has some picturesque walking trails. For peace of mind, all tracks within the forest are completely enclosed. The medieval town of Ruthin, historic city of Chester, Snowdonia National Park, many castles and NT properties and not forgetting the beach are all within easy reach for a great day out. There is also a farm shop/garage nearby.
For a great day out children will love playing on the beaches along the coast, all approximately 40 minutes away. You can also visit the threatre at Rhyl Pavilion, enjoy swimming at the Suncentre located on the promenade and the Sealife Aquarium is also worth a visit. The Welsh Mountain zoo is just a little further along the coast at Colwyn Bay. The medieval town of Ruthin is a short drive away with the Craft Centre, and Gaol, which opened to the public in 2002 being well worth a visit. The historic city of Chester surrounded by its Roman walls is only half an hour away, it has many unusual shops, little boutiques and some great restaurants and of course Chester Zoo and the market towns of Mold and Wrexham both approximately 6 miles away have all the high street banks,shops and supermarkets needed. There are also many National Trust castles and properties in the area. If you wish to bring cycles or canoes there is secure storage facilities for these at the cottage.
Golf: There is a golf at Wrexham and Llay 6 miles away.
Other Activities: White Water Rafting, Canoeing, Indoor Climbing Centre, Clay Pigeon Shooting, Shopping! Small pets considered.
