About the Cottage Accommodation
The Cottage was converted from a stable block in 2003. It is a self-catering accommodation with a 4 star rating. It has accommodation for 4 people, with 2 bedrooms, toilet and shower, fitted kitchen, TV, washing machine and under floor heating.

The Cottage has outstanding views of the surrounding landscape, views of Pen-Y-Fan and Corn Du which are the highest summits in the Brecon Beacons National Park. The Taff Trail runs alongside the Cottage, which is a long distance walking route.

There are a wide range of activites on offer including mountain biking, Caving at Dan-yr-Ogof. Brecon Mountain Railway and Llangorse Lake are nearby or you can take a leisurly stroll along the Brecon and Mounmouthshire Canal and stop for a quiet drink and a bite to eat on the way.

Areas of interest in the town centre include the Cathedral, Museum, Leisure Centre, Theatre and Cinema. If you are interested in army memorabilia there is also the 24th regimental Museum.


Brecon is host to the annual Jazz Festival weekend held in August and is local to Builth Wells where the Royal Welsh Show takes place for 4 days in July. Hay-on-Wye renowned for its book culture is just a short car journey away.

The Cottage is situated on a working farm and is open all year round. There are a wide range of activities on offer.

Location & Directions
Only 35 miles north of Cardiff and the M4 motorway, Penstar is easily reached by road. The area is well served by public transport with daily express coaches to Cardiff, the Midlands and Yorkshire. The nearest railway station is at Merthyr Tydfil and a bus connects Brecon to this railway station.

From the centre of Brecon cross the main bridge over the River Usk and drive through Llanfaes. After passing the Esso garage, National Tyres and Brecon Car Sales, turn left immediately opposite the Drovers Arms public house. Drive down Ffwdgrech Road and under the Brecon bypass to a road junction just over a bridge. Follow the middle of the three lanes and continue ahead at the next junction where a road leads off to the left. The lane then descends through wooded area and over another bridge at Waterfalls Cottage. Continue for another mile and turn right at the next junction. At the following junction our farm lane is clearly signposted.
