Highgate self catering holiday cottages are an ideal base for visiting Offa’s Dyke, Britain’s longest (177 miles) archeological monument, built in the 8th century to mark the boundary between Wales and England, the River Severn rises near by at Plynlimon in the wild Cambrian Mountains, there are may beautiful gardens to visit including the world famous garden of Powis Castle, star gazing, golf, fishing, shooting (clays and birds) and 4x4 off-roading are all available close by. The coast and the more rugged scenery of Snowdonia National Park are only an hour’s drive. A mile over the hill from the self-catering cottages lays the New Inn, for a drink and a chat.
