It is a great base from which to explore the breath-taking scenery and fantastic wildlife of Mid-Wales, often described as 'Wales best kept secret'. The Elan Valley Hotel in Stunning Mid Wales is situated at the doorway to the 'lakeland of Wales'...a beautiful and serene setting of Victorian built dams and extensive lakes. The Elan Valley is one of the few places in Britain where it is still possible to roam a wild landscape all day in solitude - a paradise for walking, pony trekking, watching birds, fishing, photography and mountain biking alike. The hotel is also only a stone's throw from the Royal Welsh Show or Hay Festival. The hotel is a family run business. The food is thoughtfully prepared and we cater for those with both simple and more exotic tastes. Mid Wales Residential Art Courses Mid week and weekend courses available in 2008 for landscape watercolour courses or life-drawing with experienced art tutor Cari Hemmings. Cari has taught adults and children both in Ystrad Mynach College and in community education, including YMCA Adult Education and WEA.
