Old Radnor Barn - Brecon Beacons B&B
Set within the Brecon Beacons National Park, the area is renowned for its scenic beauty and is an ideal base for holidays in Mid Wales, South Wales and the border towns of the Marches.
Old Radnor Barn is designated a grade 2 listed building by Cadw and dates back nearly 300 years. Retaining many original features It was sympathetically renovated between 1998 and 2002. Formerly a stable building belonging to the medeival hall house by the name of the Old Radnor Arms, the barn dates from the mid 18th century, it has a stone roof, and an octagonal mullioned windows.
Situated on the western outskirts of Talgarth, the barn, not so long ago was an overnight resting place for stallions traveling to stud on the Great Western Railway. The railway has now gone but the small market town of Talgarth nestles peacefully in the foot hills of the Black Mountains.
A geographical gateway, Talgarth is an ideal base to explore both the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons National Park ...
Opportunities exist for most outdoor activities: walking, climbing, cycling, mountain-biking, pot-holing, horse riding, gliding, hand-gliding, together with the full range of water sports including fishing, kayaking canoeing, sailing and windsurfing in the reservoirs and rivers of the area.
