Ty Rhosyn our Kidwelly Self Catering Cottage Accommodation has been graded 5 stars by Visit Wales, the Welsh tourism office, Ty Rhosyn (Rose Cottage) is a previous winner of Kidwelly in bloom and gets its name from the beautiful rose-filled garden which surrounds it.
Nestled at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac on the outskirts of the ancient town of Kidwelly, Ty Rhosyn is deceptively spacious. From the road it has the appearance of a cosy cottage but it is spacious enough to accommodate five bedrooms within its three levels and can comfortably sleep up to ten people. The propertys elevated position ensures extensive views over the spectacular tidal estuary of the Gwendraeth River towards Pembrey Forest and Cefn Sidan sands.
Enclosed Garden
Ty Rhosyns charming enclosed garden has a level lawn, a generously sized patio with wooden furniture for al fresco dining and a double childrens swing. The green house has tomatoes (in season) and fresh herbs for guests to enjoy during their stay and there is ample off-street parking for two cars.
Warm Welcome
Upon arrival guests will discover a welcome pack containing tea, coffee, sugar, bread, butter, milk, welsh cakes, and Penlan free-range eggs fresh from our own farm, whilst the larder contains essentials such as salt, oil, sauces etc. Luxurious 100% cotton sheets and towels are provided for your comfort and well behaved dogs are welcome, although visitors will need to supply their own dog beds, towels etc.
Cottage Accommodation
A short path leads through the rose garden to the front door of Ty Rhosyn which is located on the first floor. The welcoming entrance hall leads to the kitchen and lounge and has wooden staircases leading to the upper and lower floors.
Kitchen
The large, airy kitchen is fully fitted and includes a split level cooker with oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster and a DAB radio. Adjoining the kitchen is a utility room which contains a washing machine and has a separate cloakroom. The utility room also provides access to a metal staircase leading down to the rear garden.
Lounge
The spacious lounge contains comfortable sofas and armchairs to help you relax after a busy day enjoying all the area has to offer. There is a large flat screen TV and BluRay player and a simple-to-use wood burning stove for cosy nights in. Ty Rhosyn is fitted with WiFi and has a satellite dish which guests are welcome to use with their own Sky box.
Dining Room
Linking the kitchen and lounge is an elegant dining room which comfortably seats ten people. The lounge and dining room both have sliding patio doors which open onto a south facing balcony. An elegant bistro set is provided so you can sit back and enjoy panoramic views over a landscape which changes with the ebb and flow of each tide.
Top Floor
The top floor has two well appointed en-suite bedrooms, both of which enjoy the benefit of spectacular views across the estuary to nearby Pembrey Forest. Bedroom one is a fresh and airy double bedded room with twin prospects offering views over the town as well as the estuary. Bedroom two is cosy but spacious and has a luxurious king size bed. Both en-suites have a toilet, shower and sink.
Ground Floor
The other three bedrooms contain twin beds and are located on the ground floor. Bedroom three is a bright and airy en-suite which has a whirlpool bath and direct access to the garden via a patio door. Bedroom four has a serene atmosphere and a delightful garden view framed by tumbling wisteria. Bedroom five is spacious and relaxing and benefits from views across the garden and estuary. Bedrooms four and five share a large family bathroom which has a shower over the bath.
Ty Rhosyn has oil fired central heating but, as we like to do our bit for the planet, we have also fitted solar panels which provide hot water.
During longer stays our Kidwelly Self Catering Cottage Accommodation will be cleaned once a week and linen will be changed at this time.
