Brechfa Forest Barns offer 2 beautifully furnished, cosy mountain top retreats with INCREDIBLE VIEWS in the heart of the stunning Carmarthenshire countryside. At the edge of the Brechfa Forest and at 1000 feet, we boast unrivalled views of Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion and are perfectly placed to explore the delights of these 3 counties.
We are totally DOG FRIENDLY. With plenty of WALKING from the door, along forest trails and with West Wales offering over 260 miles of coastal paths you will never run out of places to ramble. The nearby River Teifi is one of the best trout FISHING rivers in Wales.
For MOUNTAIN BIKERS the Brechfa Forest Trails are world renowned and almost unlimited fire tracks start opposite the barn entrance. The location also makes us a great base for a tour of the Welsh trail centres plus we have our own resident MIAS MTB guide.
The Brecon Beacons are just a short drive away and there are plenty of popular ATTRACTIONS nearby including Aberglasney House and Gardens, Carreg Cennan Castle, Oakwood Theme Park, The National Botanical Garden of Wales and many more. There are a selection of lovely PUBS and restaurants nearby and we also offer a mouth-watering menu of HOME MADE MEALS.
Bay Tree Barn is SINGLE STOREY and sleeps 4 (+2) in one double bedroom and one twin bedroom (+ 2 x sofa beds). The bathroom has an electric shower, basin, WC and heated towel rail. The kitchen has a cooker/hob, fridge with ice box, microwave and washing machine. The living room has a WOODBURNING STOVE, Free Sat TV & DVD player, music system and FREE WiFi as well as two leather sofas (both sofa beds), an armchair and COUNTRYSIDE VIEWS. The dining area has a table with seating for 6.
The Hay Barn is 2 STOREY and sleeps 4(+4) in 2 bedrooms plus 2 sofa beds & 2 x z-beds. Beds are zip linked so guests can choose how they would like their room to be made up (doubles or twins). The downstairs bathroom has a bath, electric shower, basin, WC and heated towel rail. The kitchen has cooker/hob, fridge with ice box, microwave, washing machine & tumble drier. The living room has Free Sat TV & DVD player, music system and FREE WiFi plus leather sofas (one is a sofa bed), and armchair and COUNTRYSIDE VIEWS. The dining area has a table and seating for 8.
The 2 barns are next door to each other (and adjoining). Although they are both entirely separate there is a connecting door should guests wish to book the 2 barns together.
Each barn has their own ENCLOSED GARDEN with garden furniture with barbeques. There is ample PARKING right outside, bike wash and secure storage.
Linen, towels, tea towels and dog towels are included. Heating, electricity are INCLUDED in the price. A basket of logs is included with Bay Tree Barn and further logs are available at 5 per basket. DOGS are VERY WELCOME and there is NO LIMIT ON NUMBERS providing guests are respectful of the accommodation and leave in the same clean, tidy manner in which it is presented to you. Pets are restricted to downstairs in The Hay Barn. Pets are charged at 15 each per week (10 each per short break).
OPTIONAL EXTRAS: fabulous home-cooked meals, packed lunches and picnics, mountain bike guide, bike hire, child minding, dog sitting, additional logs.

We have to say this is the best place in Wales that we have ever stayed. Food was outstanding, company was excellent and there is so much to see and do. Great accommodation - an amazing cottage with beautiful views in a wonderful location. Looking forward already to our next visit. Can't wait to come back. Fantastic location for the best of South Wales Mountain Biking, Brechfa Black, Red, Blue & Green rated trails within a couple of miles, Cwm Rhaednr & Afan slightly further, explicitly remote location, with Guide available (Jason). What a fantastic location for Mountain Biking...right on the edge of Brechfa Forest with some of the best and most challenging trails south of Scotland. A great guide in Jason, all topped off with five star accommodation and food the feeds your soul as well as your belly. Within shouting distance of the Pembroke and South West coasts too. Marvellous! We have had the most fantastic time staying at Bay Tree Barn. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, us or the 9 dogs! We will definitely be ordering more food next time...the Welsh Apple Cake and Muffins were absolutely scrummy. How beautiful your holiday home is and how blessed we are to have found you! Thank you again for such a lovely time. Nikki, Jason, Woody & Cookie made us all feel so very welcome and we look forward to coming back again in September. What a gorgeous place! We love it here. It's everything said in the info but better! Nikki and Jason are great hosts - very friendly, welcoming and hospitable. When you come, try Nikki's cooking - it's excellent - highly recommended! We had several meals and loved the lot! It's so good to come back after a day out and to have a tasty hot meal ready and waiting! This is Mountain Biker heaven! The tracks run from opposite the entrance and all abilities will find plenty to challenge them here. Perfect for walkers, nature lovers, steam train keenies (at least 5 within the hour), fantastic beaches etc, etc, etc and 'escape from a mad world' enthusiasts. We loved the peace and tranquility. Wow this place is amazing! Feels just like home, only more luxurious! Stunning views, so peaceful AND nice comfy beds. Fantastic mountain biking at Brechfa, and we loved taking our dog for walks in the beautiful Welsh countryside. A perfect get away. And you've got to try Nikki's chilli. We'll be back! My sister, our 3 dogs and I have had a fantastic week here - perfect for long walks with the dogs! We didn't get to cover half of the walks we wanted to which gives us a great excuse to come back! The barn is really lovely and every detail had been covered - including one of the most well equipped kitchens we've come across! It's so nice to finally find quality accommodation that allows more than 2 dogs and I'd never get tired of looking at that view! Thank you Nikki and Jason for making us feel so welcome and to Woody and Cookie for being the dogs new playmates. I'm just sorry we didn't get to try more of your delicious food but the veg lasagne was gorgeous - something else to rack up for next time! Thanks again. LIANNE & SAM DOW
