Amlwch is situated at the far north eastern corner of the isle of Anglesey. A small coastal town and fishing harbour with a long history of copper mining and seafaring traditions like boat building and sail making.
From Parry’s Mountain (Copper Mountain) Copper was once exported all over the world and tours of the old mine works deep under the mountain are now available if pre booked.
Fishing boats leave the harbour daily many with anglers who regularly book their places and rods for a day’s sea angling in the Irish Sea.
Golf at Bull Bay on the links course is extremely popular at all times of the year and some of the local hotels often offer special Golf breaks that include green fees
A favourite walk is along the coast from Amlwch Port to Point Lynas Light House, along this coastal walk look out for our local Dolphins and for bird watchers some rare birds are quite often spotted.
Golf, fishing and activities are popular pastimes across the Isle of Anglesey and visitors and tourists who base themselves at Amlwch do not have to travel far to play golf at the many fine golf clubs throughout the island or to visit historic sites, golden sandy beaches or rocky coves
Amlwch is about fifteen miles from Holyhead and the ferry port to Ireland with many daily sailings and the super fast catamaran ferry taking only 90 minutes, so a day trip to Dublin may be worth thinking about.
I5 miles inland from Amlwch you will find the market town of Llangefni where traders come each Thursday to sell their produce in the open air market. Both these towns are worthy of a visit for those wishing to explore and to flavour the atmosphere of island towns
