Y R HEN Y STABLAU (THE OLD STABLES) was originally built in 1876 to house the local rector's horses and livestock. It was renovated and extended in 1975 by a local architect who maintained many of the original features and eccentrically added some of his own. Our understanding is that he was rather short in stature, so BEWARE! there are many low beams and a few places with restricted headroom.
The willow tree originated from the same period and is believed to be over 100 years old, but the pond was added only in the last decade. The water reaches to over 2 feet in depth so all young children must be supervised when playing in the garden. We also ask that you do not pick the wild flowers as some are protected and some very rare. We encourage the birds to visit and for anyone interested in ornithology, there is a wonderful array of birds to watch.
This delightful self catering accommodation Anglesey is situated on the edge of Bryngwran village down its own tree lined lane and is prefectly placed for exploring the island, 5 minutes from the sand dune beaches of Rhosneiger and only 30 minutes from the mountains of Snowdonnia. The island boasts 6 golf courses and some of the most spectacular coastline in the british isles; an oasis for rambling.
The property comfortably sleeps 7 people offering two double bedrooms, one single, one twin (with restricted height entrance). The kitchen is wood panelled incorporating a dishwasher, microwave oven, fridge, electric oven and hob. The oil-fired Stanley, which controls the CH and hot water can also be used for slow cooking and brings a cosy warmth to the kitchen in the winter. The dining room is separate but has a good sized serving hatch linked to the kitchen. The bathroom has WC with an electric shower over the bath. The utility room has washing machine, tumble dryer, large freezer and second WC. The main lounge has colour TV, video and log burning stove. In fact all home comforts can be found in this beautifully unique converted stables.
