Outdoor Alternative provides group accommodation in Rhoscolyn, Anglesey, North Wales. Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with direct access to a superb and varied coastline, Outdoor Alternative is ideally placed for visitors to participate in a wide range of interests.
Our 3 star quality group accommodation consists of two purpose-built, comfortable buildings. Excellent home-cooked food is available, or visitors can use our well-equipped self-catering facilities if they prefer.

We are ideally situated for field studies and school trips particularly for students with an interest in geology, biology, leisure studies, and geography.
ACCOMMODATION
Outdoor Alternative has purpose-built accommodation designed to provide comfortable year round facilities for groups of up to 36 in 2 adjacent buildings. There are some facilities for people who use wheelchairs.
The accommodation is clean, warm and well ventilated. The beds are comfortable; pillows, duvets, freshly laundered sheet sleeping bags are provided. The buildings are fully centrally heated and have a wash-hand basin in each bedroom. Showers, washrooms and toilets are either en-suite or adjacent to the bedrooms.
There are good sized common rooms which can be used for working, relaxing and socialising. All of the accommodation is open and available throughout the day.
There are also drying facilities, plenty of parking space and a payphone.
The accommodation is set up for use either on a self-catered or catered basis. The kitchens are fully equipped with food storage space including fridge and freezer space.
For the comfort of customers, smoking is not permitted in the buildings.
The Centre has useful resource materials such as maps, guides, reports, reference and identification books.
The accommodation is primarily for groups although backpackers, independent hostelers and families can often be accommodated. Exclusive use of a building is arranged for groups of 12 or more.
Building 1 The Centre can sleep 20 people in 5 bedrooms (2x2 beds; 1x4 beds; and 2x6 beds)
Building 2 The Middle can sleep 16 people in 4 bedrooms (1x3 beds accessible; 2x4 beds en-suite; and 1x5 beds en-suite). There are additional beds on sleeping platforms above the 5 bed room ( 3 beds) and one of the 4 bed rooms (2 mattresses), bringing the total that can be accommodated to 21, but access is via steep ladders and is unsuitable for young children or people with limited agility. There is a wheelchair accessible toilet and shower.
